Dr. Chow Pak-chin, former director of the Hong Kong College of Ophthalmologists, stated that approximately 601 TP4T of the Hong Kong population suffers from myopia, with the rate reaching as high as 901 TP4T among university students. He warned that patients with high myopia exceeding 600 degrees are prone to complications such as glaucoma and macular degeneration. These diseases often have no obvious symptoms in their early stages, but can severely affect vision and even lead to blindness, so they should never be ignored. He urged the public to develop the habit of having regular eye exams as early as possible.
