Panbio™ COVID-19 Antigen Self-Test has been demonstrated in clinical evaluations conducted by healthcare professionals to correctly identify 98.11 TP4T positive samples and 99.81 TP4T negative samples. All samples were confirmed positive and negative by RT-PCR testing, which is approved by the U.S. FDA for Emergency Use.

In a clinical evaluation of 102 self-test users, the Panbio™ COVID-19 Antigen Self-Test correctly identified 100.01 TP4T negative samples and 95.21 TP4T positive samples. All samples were confirmed as positive or negative by the Panbio™ COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test Device (nasopharynx).

Abbott – Panbio™ COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test: 4 Steps to Use

For nasal sampling, rotate the tube 4-6 times (approximately 15 seconds each) in both the left and right nostrils.
Prepare the sample by placing the nasal swab into the antigen extraction tube and mixing it with the reagents in the tube.
To perform the test, close the blue cap tightly, invert the test tube vertically, and drop the test sample into the sample well.
Start timing, wait 15 minutes, and compare the results.

Abbott – Panbio™ COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test Results Interpretation

Positive result: If you see both the control (C) and test (T) lines, it means you have tested positive for COVID-19. (Please double-check! Even a faint test (T) line indicates a positive result.)

Negative result: If you only see the control (C) line, it means that COVID-19 was not detected.

Invalid result (test ineffective): If the control (C) line does not appear, the test is ineffective and invalid. This may be due to an incorrect test procedure; please test again.

Precautions for Abbott – Panbio™ COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test

It can only be used for in vitro diagnostics.
Please read the instructions before performing the test. Follow all instructions for accurate results.
Do not eat or smoke while handling samples.
Thorough handwashing is required before and after the test.
If there is any spillage, please clean it thoroughly with an appropriate disinfectant.
Please place all samples, reaction kits, and potentially contaminated materials (i.e., swabs, extraction tubes, and testing devices) in the provided bag.
Please use only the liquid in the buffer bottle provided with the test kit. Using other liquids will result in inaccurate results.
Please keep the test kit out of reach of children.
To prevent contamination, only touch the sides of the testing device and ensure that the tip of the swab only touches the nasal cavity and the inside of the extraction tube.
The swabs provided are only for collecting nasal (middle turbinate) samples.
Each test kit, swab, blue cap, buffer bottle, and bag is for single use only. Do not reuse individual contents. The swab holder is reusable.
Do not immerse the swab in buffer solution or other liquids before inserting it into the nasal cavity.
The included buffer bottle contains <0.11 TP4T sodium azide as a preservative; ingestion may cause poisoning. If the buffer solution accidentally comes into contact with the eyes, rinse with tap water for at least 15 minutes. If stinging persists, seek immediate medical attention.
If the test kit has been stored in a refrigerator, please let it stand at room temperature (15 to 30°C) for 30 minutes before use.
Do not use the test kit if the bag is damaged or the seal is broken.
Swab samples should be tested immediately after sampling.

Abbott – Panbio™ Antigen Detection Kit Test Results

The test result is invalid, possibly due to an incorrect test procedure. Please wait 4 hours and repeat the test.

A positive test result means that the viral proteins that cause COVID-19 were found in your nasal swab sample. You will likely need to self-isolate at home to prevent the spread of COVID-19. A positive result does not rule out the possibility of co-infection with other pathogens. Please follow local social distancing policies to curb the spread of the virus and contact your doctor or local health department immediately.

A negative test result means you are unlikely to have COVID-19 at the time of testing. This test did not detect any antigens in your nasal sample, but false negative results are possible. False negative test results can be caused by several factors:
• During infection, the amount of antigen in a swab sample may decrease over time.
• Tests may come back negative before symptoms appear.
• The test was not performed as instructed.
• Samples were not collected, extracted, or transported correctly.
If symptoms persist, please test again in 1-2 days, as coronavirus may not be detectable in the early stages of infection. We recommend that you continue to follow your local self-isolation policy and consult your doctor.
