New research also shows that insomnia may increase the risk of stroke.<br \/>\nA Taiwanese study published in the American Heart Association&#039;s journal *Stroke* indicates that...<a href=\"https:\/\/gogoherbs.com\/en\/%e8%a4%aa%e9%bb%91%e6%bf%80%e7%b4%a0\/\">suffer from insomnia<\/a>People with insomnia have a 54% higher chance of stroke than those without insomnia; and among all insomnia patients, young adults aged 18-34 have an eight times higher chance of stroke than those over 34.<br \/>\nThe study&#039;s lead researcher, Assistant Professor Ya-Wen Hsu of Chia Nan University of Pharmacy and Science, tracked approximately 21,000 insomnia patients and 64,000 non-insomnia patients in Taiwan&#039;s National Health Insurance database. Four years later, 583 insomnia patients suffered strokes, accounting for about 2.7% of the total; while 962 non-insomnia patients suffered strokes, accounting for about 1.5% of the total. The incidence of stroke is even higher for those experiencing chronic insomnia for more than six months.<br \/>\nThe research team believes that it is not yet clear how insomnia increases the risk of stroke, but they speculate that insomnia may increase the body&#039;s inflammatory response, raise blood pressure, and even disrupt metabolism, thereby affecting cardiovascular health.<br \/>\nHsu Ya-wen suggested that if the public has<a href=\"https:\/\/gogoherbs.com\/en\/%e8%a4%aa%e9%bb%91%e6%bf%80%e7%b4%a0\/\">Chronic insomnia<\/a>For young patients in particular, in addition to receiving active treatment, they also need to go to the hospital to assess their risk of
